Air Compressor Machine:
The Air compressor is a Pneumatic or Mechanical device that increases the pressure of a gas by reducing its volume. It is a Pneumatic machine that sucks air from nature and stores it inside the tank. There is a reciprocating pump inside the compressor in which there is a piston. This piston reciprocates vertically from Top drade center (TDC) to the Bottom drade center (BDC). When the piston, inside the reciprocating pump, moves from TDC to BDC, the suction valve of the compressor opens up and sucks air, and when the piston moves from BDC to TDC, it stores air inside the compressor tank. This compressed-air discharges with high pressure. The moment an Air compressor’s tank gets filled with compressed air, the discharge valve gets opened and removes extra air from the air compressor tank. There is a pressure gauge mounted on the Air compressor tank which displays the created air pressure in the tank. This compressed air is used in Casting, running a diesel engine, etc.

It’s called a Screw Air compressor because its principle is based on Screw and it’s a positive displacement type compressor because it gives us constant flow at constant pressure. There is an air-type casing provided on the driving and driven member. The moment the driving member starts rotating, the suction valve opens up, and the filtered air enters inside the compressor. These air compressors are designed for Pulsation free air delivery and continuous duty. As compare to Reciprocating Piston Air Compressor, it requires low starting torque as the moving parts have less mass in the Rotary Air compressor. Reciprocating Piston Air Compressors:
This compressor is known as a Reciprocating Air Compressor because there is a piston inside the cylinder which reciprocates vertically from Top Drade Center (TDC) to the Bottom Drade Center (BDC). There are a Suction valve and Discharge valve mounted on the valve seat. When the piston crankshaft rotates, the piston travels from TDC to BDC. While traveling this distance, the piston will create a Suction effect and Suction valve will open up and Air comes inside the Compressor tank. There is a Pressure gauge that displays the amount of pressure generated inside the compressor tank. The moment when desired pressure is achieved, the Discharge valve opens up automatically and throws out the unwanted air from the Air Compressor tank. Oil-Free & Dental Air Compressors:
It is known as an oil-free air compressor because it doesn’t require oil to operate. It is also called Oil-less air compressor. This compressor doesn’t need oil to manage heat, it gets cooled by atmospheric air. When the compressor is in running condition, it starts bringing atmospheric air inside through the unloader valve and passes this air through an air filter just to ensure that the air is clean. When the compressor is running and delivering compressed air, it will not be able to draw more air. A Dental Air compressor is also a part of an oil-free air compressor. Dental Air compressor is mostly used by dentists in their clinic. Kortex Automation has different oil-free air compressors for different applications.
